China's Treasure Island

Hainan Province (Hainan Island) is located in the southernmost part of China. Its latitude falls between 3° 20′ and 20° 18′, while its longitude is between 107° 10′ and 119° 10′. The island's sprawling archipelago system makes it China's largest ocean province, but at the same time it is China's smallest province in total land mass. It is the second largest island in China, only slightly smaller than the island of Taiwan. Hainan Province is located in the tropics, so naturally it has a tropical climate. The annual average temperature is 23.8 °C, with a low average temperature of 17.2 °C in January and a high average temperature of 28.4 °C in July. Hainan's temperate summers, mild winters, abundant rainfall, and extended periods of daylight each day make the island suitable for developing high-yield tropical agriculture. The province possesses plentiful biological, aquatic, mining, and tourism resources. Hainan Island is the home of two Chinese minorities, and is also well known for its large number of overseas Chinese. Regarding Hainan, it has been said, “It's not Hawaii - it's even better!” Hainan Island is China's “Treasure Island.”
