Hainan Foreign Languages is a state-run university that has been in operation for 60 years and has trained untold numbers of professionals. At present, the school offers the following majors (among others): English, Japanese, and Chinese for Foreign Students, etc. The school's teaching staff includes teachers from China and Japan, as well as instructors from Europe and America. Although Chinese students make up the vast majority of the student body, Hainan Foreign Languages has also enrolled foreign students from Japan, America, Holland, Russia, Ukraine, Denmark, and other countries. In order to meet the needs of foreign students studying Chinese at this university, the school established the International Cultural Exchange Department for the purpose of educating foreign students in the Chinese language.
